Day 2

Charles Price

It’s good to pray for what Paul prayed for – that God would open a door.

‘Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message.’ (COLOSSIANS 4:3)

When we ask God to open the right door we never know where that will be or what will happen in consequence – we are depending on Him to direct our paths, wherever they lead.

The adventure of the Christian life is to ‘live by faith, not by sight’ (2 Corinthians 5:7). Life will never be boring or merely routine, for in unexpected ways God will bring people across our paths or put us in situations that are God ordained. Paul told the Philippians to not be concerned about him being in prison, for ‘it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ’ (Philippians 1:13). As I write this, I have just been talking with a lady who has spent the last two months in hospital having fallen and broken her hip badly. She has found amazing opportunities to witness about Christ to nurses, fellow patients and to her doctors!

Lord, help me to see the open doors You put in front of me, and to have the courage to go through them.
