Day 6

Charles Price

“… by appointment of King Hezekiah and Azariah the official in charge of the temple of God.”

—2 CHRONICLES 31:13

In Great Britain there is a business honour known as ‘Royal Warrants of Appointment’. Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to individuals or companies who have supplied goods or services for at least five years to either The King, or The Prince of Wales. These Warrants recognize excellence and quality, and are highly prized. There are around 850 Royal Warrant Holders, representing a cross-section of trade and industry, ranging from traditional crafts people to global and multinational firms.

You and I have a royal appointment! It comes to us from a much higher authority than the Royal Family of Britain, Canada and a few other countries. Perhaps God has called you to be a teacher, a physician, a taxi driver, a preacher, a homemaker or a student. The nature of what we do is secondary to the significance and divine purpose that lies beyond our human purpose and reasons.

To be a mother or father is a heavenly calling to a divine ministry. To be in business is a divine calling to a ministry. You may be in a vocation or job you did not sense a particular ‘call’ to; it just happens to be a job. But it is still a divine appointment, for the Scriptures tell us that, “If we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will direct our paths.” If we acknowledge Him, He has put us in the place He wants us for the present. Therefore, we are wise if we remain sensitive to that, and live each day aware that God has an interest and an agenda in our situations.

Your job has a royal warrant attached to it, and you can dare to believe today, “I am here by the divine appointment of The King of Kings”.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, it is such a privilege and blessing to live a life in service to You. I know wherever I am and in whatever I do, You have a purpose for me and I am filled with gratitude for the steps You take in my life.

TO REFLECT UPON: Am I content in whatever position I hold, knowing the Lord has placed me there for His purpose?
