Day 10
In a relationship with Christ there are securities we can never know anywhere else.
‘I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.’ (2 Timothy 1:12)
If I commit my money to a bank, the bank undertakes to keep it for me. If I choose not to commit mymoney to the bank and hide it under my mattress, the bank takes no responsibility for it. If it’s stolenthey won’t replace it because I never committed it to them.
Likewise, God has undertaken to keep what we have entrusted to Him. What we give to Him, He looks after. What we don’t give to Him, we have to look after ourselves. That is why there is nothing safer and more secure than committing all that we are to God, knowing that no matter what happens, Hehas undertaken responsibility for looking after it. Paul relates entrusting himself to God to believing God. It is the measure of our belief that leads to the measure of our trusting Him. Conversely, if we don’t trust Him, it may be because we don’t really believe He will look after what we entrust to Him.
Are there areas in your life that you have not yielded to Christ?
